Slightly Stoopid, Cypress Hill, and Collie Budz on their Legalize It tour.  Actually, I am going to see it, just not front row (aka Mosh Pit).

Writer's Block: Tolerance 101?

If you could create/select a new subject that had to be taught in high school, what would it be, and why?

Religion Studies, but not just ChristianityHinduismBuddhism, Islam, JudaismSikhism, Bahaism, Confucianism, Jainism, Shintoism, etc.  Just a respectful overview of the beliefs, practices, and history of these (the top ten organized religions in the world) would suffice.

The thing is I hate the word 'tolerance'.  For me it's always convayed the sense of 'I don't like you and I don't want you here but I'm willing to put up with you.'.  I like the word 'appreciate' much better and how can you appreciate that which you know nothing about.  Plus I've always believe that ignorance breeds hate better than anything else.

SUPPOSEDLY if you've seen over 85 films, you have no life. Mark the ones you've seen. There are 239 films on this list. Copy this list, post to your LJ and paste this as a note. Then, put +'s next to the films you've seen, add them up, and use your number as the header.

1. Bold the names of guys you'd definitely sex it up with.
2. Italicize the names of guys you might do after a little persuasion.
3. Leave the guys who don't do anything for you alone.
4. Put a question mark after the guys you've never heard of.
5. Strike the guys you wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.
6. Add three more guys to the list.

Writer's Block: Yes, offense taken

A story, this was quite a few years ago:

I was riding from school with a friend of mine. She had to pick up her little brother from school and I went with her.  He kept going on and on about some kid he was in class with being 'gay'.  I told him if he used 'gay' as a derogitory term again I'd bitch slap him.  He did, so I turned around in my seat and bitch slapped him.  He'd earned it.  I'd warned him.

My family knows better.  My sister once lectured me quite throughly on not using the term 'nigger rigged'.  I haven't used it since.

Also, I have a young son who I refuse to let join the Boy Scouts as I'd read an article, quite some years ago, about The Boy Scouts of America kicking out a gay scout leader because of his sexual orientation in Rolling Stones.

Believe it or not, homosexuals are less likely to molest children than heterosexuals.  True facts.

The journey is too short as far as Azula is concerned.  Only a week of warm weather before they're traveling past icecaps again.  Just long enough for her to remember the feel of sun on her skin.

The Water tribesmen strip down almost completely and wonder aloud why she doesn't do the same.  She reminds them of where 'Polu' grew up and they don't mention it again.  They're almost afraid of reminding her.

It's better that then exposing her breasts and destroying her cover.

Robert Frost speculated about the world ending in fire or in ice. Which do you think is likely to end us all: meteorite, global warming, nuclear weapons, zombies, or the superflu?

The World?  Fire; when the sun goes nova and roasts it.
The Universe?  Darkness; when all the suns burn out.

Water bending is a challenge for Azula, but she doesn't give up.  She never gives up.  She works at it with a single-mindedness that pleases her master.

Eventually it clicks and she grows by leaps and bounds, quickly becoming a skilled bender.  She even takes lessons from the healers aware that they could come in handy.

It's a bad move on her part.

Girls begin to notice her/him and his/her prodigious talent though she has little to offer for any of their hands.

At eighteen the chief summons her to talk about marriage.  He's begun to think of Polu as something of an adopted son.

She immediately request to travel to the South Pole to continue the search for 'Polu's' family.

Toph sends them letters dictated to and written by strangers she pays for the service.  The hand writing is never the same from one letter to the next and neither is the location she posts them from.  Sometimes they are barely legible and other times they're simply nonsense (some one stupid enough to try cheating Toph out of her money and lucky enough to succeed), but they make the effort to read about what she felt in the place of her discipline's origin and her search for the boy who took her title anyway.

Four years and the search for Azula is abandoned in all but name.  There are still bullies in the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom; too many to waste resources on a girl who might be long dead.

But those who knew her, knew she would never go down without a fight epic enough to bring attention to her never stop looking for her face or feeling for her footsteps in crowded streets the world over.
